Colt Eugene Allery, age 29, of St. John, ND, a Deputy for the Rolette County Sheriff's Office, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 near Belcourt, ND, a true hero among us, due to injuries suffered selflessly defending his community in the line of duty.

He had a passion for helping people, and soon realized his love for law enforcement. In 2011, he became a Correctional Officer for Rolette County. It didn't take long before he worked his way up to officer. On August 22, 2014, Colt graduated as part of the 119th Basic Training Program from the North Dakota Law Enforcement Training Academy in Bismarck, ND. He began his work with Rolla Police Department and spent time with the Turtle Mountain Tribal Police Department. He was currently employed with Rolette County Sheriff's Department, where he gave the ultimate sacrifice.
In 2006, he married Rikkanda. Together they had 3 children Xander, Landan, and Rhianda. They later divorced. Colt met the love of his life, Alexandria, in 2013. Together they had a son, Zennon and Colt gained a step-daughter, Zandria. Colt was happiest doing for others, especially his family and friends. He enjoyed playing darts, cribbage and Xbox live, the bands Five Finger Death Punch and Avenged Sevenfold, the Minnesota Vikings, Los Angeles Lakers, and Dodge Ram Trucks.
