William B. Charbonneau was born on September 25, 1945 in Belcourt, ND to Clarence and Lucy (Parisien) Charbonneau. He was raised in Belcourt and completed his education there as well. He was the proud father of eight children, Tanya, Jerry, Billie Jo, Winona, April, Robert, Shawn, and William Jr. He worked for public utilities in Belcourt for many years. He liked wood carving, especially diamond willow and made many beautiful crosses and walking sticks. William enjoyed the neighborhood kids and often sold them candy out of his shed and often listened to older country music. William was a Godly man, spending many hours in the adoration chapel, devoted his time on the parish council, and was involved in Cursillo. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.
William is survived by his children, Billie Jo Charbonneau of Belcourt, Winona Charbonneau of Belcourt, April Charbonneau of Belcourt, Robert Badhorse of Lower Brule, SD, Shawn Charbonneau of Fargo, and William Jr. (Kayla Slater) Charbonneau of Belcourt; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; siblings, Ronnie (Sandra) Short of Belcourt, Sheila Malaterre of Belcourt, Ricky Short of Belcourt, and Joyce Short of Belcourt; and many nieces and nephews.
