Dr. Wade Burgess, age 62, of Rolla, ND passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at his home.

Wade Burgess was born in Aurora, Co. on June 3, 1958.  He was adopted by Lois and Arlie Burgess of Bismarck, ND. Wade graduated from Bismarck High in 1976. He continued his education at the University of North Dakota, where he obtained his Bachelors Degree in physical therapy in 1980. Wade later pursued his Master's and Doctorate in physical therapy.

Wade married Gayle Delaney on June 11, 1978. They had two sons, Michel, and Eric. The family moved to Rolla in the 80s and Wade began his job at Presentation Medical Center.  Wade was also a consultant at San Haven Health Institute, as well as various local nursing homes, and he also provided sports medicine for local athletes.

Professionally, Wade was very active in the state and National Physical Therapy Association. He was voted President of the North Dakota Physical Therapy Association (NDPTA) twice and he also served as chairman of the board of the NDPTA.  In 2003 Wade received the NDPTA Outstanding Service Award.

Wade was active in many community organizations including, Bulldog Backers, Rolla Jaycees, Rolla Country Club, Mt. Pleasant School District, and Rolette Public Health. Wade enjoyed hunting, golfing, gardening, sports, and family.  His passion was watching the Minnesota Vikings, and he looked forward every year to vacations at Leech Lake.

Wade is survived by his wife; Gayle of Rolla ND, sons; Michel (Jacy) Bemidji, MN, and Eric (Kami) St. Paul, MN; sister, Claudia Jahraus; sister-in-law's, Vicki (Pat) Peake, Donna Gulka, Barb Binstock and Marla Schiemeister; his Grand Children, Noah, Emily, Grace, and Keely. Wade is preceded in death by his parents, Lois and Arlie Burgess, his step-mother, Patricia Burgess, and his step-brother, Charles Delaney.

Casket Bearers will be Bob Edwards, Tyler Edwards, Chris Albertson, Curt Binstock, Kevin Svingen, and Gerry Krech.

A visitation will be at Elick Funeral Home on Monday, October 26, 2020 from 5 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m.  A Funeral service will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at 1030 a.m. Pastor Nicholas Rohde presiding.

Masks will be required at the funeral service, and recommended at the visitation.
