She retired from full-time teaching in 2020 but continued to substitute for several years. Her students adored her and often expressed gratitude, acknowledging her impact on their lives. Teaching was Vivian's passion, and she put her heart into every student she encountered. Vivian had a unique ability to make everyone feel welcome, embodying her favorite quote: 'Only you can make your own sunshine.'"

Vivian enjoyed playing bingo, visiting the casino, and ensuring her family stayed on the straight and narrow. She was well-known for her warmth and generosity, and she helped raise many children, including Billie Jo Gladue, Kyle Vivier, Josh Henry, Brian "Buck" Henry, Cynthia Standingchief, and Lynette Standingchief.

Vivian was united in marriage to Frank Keplin Sr. on December 26th,1969, a union that resulted in four beautiful children: Frank "Bubsey" Jr., Rhonda (Lowell 'JR' Poitra), Anthony, and Nathan (Skyanne Nadeau).
