Obituary

Vanessa Duchaine, age 44, of Minot, ND passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021 at Trinity Hospital, Minot, ND.

Vanessa Lynn Duchaine was born on December 22, 1977 in Belcourt, ND to Donald Duchaine and together with step-mother, Donna Lockwood, raised in Minot, ND.  She grew up in Minot and later moved back to Belcourt furthering her education at Turtle Mountain Community College obtaining a degree in computer technology.  She was the proud mother of three children, Layton, Raini, and Bryce.  Vanessa loved the time she spent with her family and also enjoyed her ladie's group.  She was an avid football fan, often cheering on the Dallas Cowboys.  Her faith was very important to her as she regularly attended church services.  Often, you could find her on a walk, or telling family and friends how far she had gone on one of her beloved walks.  She adored spending time with her nieces and nephews. Vanessa will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her family members and many friends.

Vanessa is survived by her children, Layton Duchaine of Minot, Raini Lenoir of St. John, and Bryce Lenoir of Minot; grandson, Jax Duchaine; step-mother, Donna Lockwood of Bismarck; siblings, Steven Duchaine of Minot, Dawn Duchaine of Bismarck, Wade Duchaine of Victorville, CA, Stacey Duchaine of Bismarck, Donovan Duchaine of Florence, CO, Cassie St. Claire of Spokane, WA, Robert Ponce of Fargo, and Ramiro Damian of Bismarck; Godfather, Rodney Duchaine; Godmother, Barbara Duchaine; and many nieces and nephews.

Vanessa was preceded in death by her father, Donald Duchaine and her companion, Rob Volk.

Casket Bearers are Johnny Moors, Harley LaRocque, Robert Ponce, Cole Slater, Cirrus LaRocque, and Zyler LaRocque.  Readers are Donna Lockwood and Jenny Moors.  Music by Richard Turcotte and C. Joe Parisien.

A visitation will begin at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at St. Anthony's Catholic Chruch, Belcourt, ND with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM.  Funeral Mass will be Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 10:00 AM in the church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery, Belcourt, ND.  A meal will follow the burial in the church.
