Valeri Ann Trottier, age 64, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at her home after a long battle with cancer.

Valeri Ann Trottier was born on February 21, 1957 in San Jose, California to Burton and Patricia (Dumont) Trottier. She was raised in St. John and graduated in 1975 from St. John High School.  She received her Associates in Business in Wahpeton and later received her Cosmetology degree at St. Joseph's in Minot, ND.  Valeri owned and operated a salon in Rolla.  In later years she managed several in Fargo.

Valeri was a proud mother of two daughters.  Marcie Ann Carvalho and Michelle Liegh Harviell.  Valeri was an unbeatable scrabble player.  She enjoyed playing cards – poker specifically and was well versed in pinochle.  Valeri greatly enjoyed working on the horse racing circuit with her family in her younger years.  She was an accomplished artist and a competitive bowler. She also loved history.  She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed – especially her corky sense of humor.

Valeri is survived by her children, Marcie Carvalho of New Mexico and Michelle Harviell of St. John; mother, Patricia Eller of Belcourt; father, Burton (Lil) Trottier of Boissevain, MB;  siblings, Cindy Trottier of Minot, Glenda (Rob) Bryant of St. John, and Neil Trottier of Lawrence, KS; and nieces and nephews, Dale Trottier Jr., Corrilyn (Dan) Henry, Kyle (Chasity) Malaterre, Colette Malaterre, Mike (Lisa) Bryant, Beau (Page) Bryant, Tyler (Callie) Bryant, and Anthony (Nataie) Koistinen; and 10 great nieces and 10 great nephews.

Valeri was preceded in death by her brother, Dale Trottier, grandparents, Mildred Beaver and Agnes (Trottier) Wheeler and Pat Trottier, and aunts and uncles.
