Obituary

Tresa Trottier, age 46, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at her home in Rolla, ND.

Tresa Ann Trottier, MishiBizhii ikwa "Cougar Woman", was born on July 10, 1977 to Charles and Sharon (Schindler) Trottier. Her Godparents were Annie Schindler and Fred Schindler Jr. She was raised in Belcourt and graduated from Turtle Mountain Community School in 1996, living most of her life in Rolette County. In high school she enjoyed sports including volleyball and track, as well as art. Tresa was the proud mother of three children, Dustin, Dawson, and Evan. Tresa loved animals and driving around. She had the gift to gab with everybody and was an amazing artist. Tresa loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an amazing, fun person to be around. She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her family members and many friends.

Tresa is survived by her parents, Charles and Sharon Trottier of Belcourt; children, Dustin Trottier of Belcourt, Dawson Trottier of Grand Forks, and Evan Trottier of Belcourt; five grandchildren, Ray, Oakley, Dustin Jr., Mateo, and Eugene; siblings, Shawna Trottier of Belcourt, Troy Trottier of Fargo, and half-brother, Jonny Moors of Minot; and many family members and friends.

Tresa was preceded in death by her grandparents, Fred and Jenny Schindler and Marion and Roy Trottier, brother, Chad Trottier, aunt, Joan Alvord, and many other aunts, uncles, and family.

Casket Bearers are Troy Trottier, Dawson Trottier, Jerad Alvord, Dustin Trottier, Jonny Moors, and Billy Schindler.  Honorary Bearers are Seth Alvord, Luke Schindler, and Evan Trottier. Eucharistic Gifts by Laney Trottier, Hailey Jeanotte, and Ian LaVallie. Music by Craig Lunday, Joe Parisien, and drum by Mark Hajicek. Readings by Roberta DeCoteau. Rosary led by Patty Allery.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with a visitation beginning at 8:00 AM and Rosary Service at 9:00 AM prior to the Funeral Mass. Burial will take place at a later date. Father Michael Slovak, SOLT presiding.
