Tommy Thompson, age 85, of Rolette, ND passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Trinity Hospital, Minot, ND.

Tommy Troy Thompson was born on June 24, 1938 in York, ND to Troy and Pearl (Johnson) Thompson.  He was raised in Rolette and attended Rolette High School, graduating in 1957.  He was united in marriage to Bernadine "Susie" Lentz on December 27, 1959, in Rolla.  Together they had three children, Todd, Tina, and Travis.  Tommy worked for Rolette County for over 30 years improving roads with the maintainer and later mowing ditches and spraying weeds, a vital part of the community in which he lived. He enjoyed the outdoors, working in his yard and gardening, hunting locally as well as going out west to hunt mule deer, and going fishing.  He was an avid fan of the Minnesota Twins and enjoyed socializing, especially at the Rolette Golf Course.  Tommy will be forever remembered and greatly missed by his family, his friends, and his community.

Tommy is survived by his children, Todd (Lisa) Thompson of Towner, Tina Kessel of Wilton, and Travis (Julie) Thompson of Rolette; grandchildren, Zachary (Makayla) Thompson, Alexis (Evan) Entze, Dallas (Chance) Havig, Austin (Ashley) Havig, Braden Kessel, and Aaron (Kensie) Thompson; step-grandchildren, Jesse (Ryan) Azure, Jaden Pfeifer, and Jalen Pfeifer;  great grandchildren, Bralyn, Blaik, Jaemeson, Landrie, Alyvia, Adalyn, and Anderson Havig, Carter Thompson, Aiden and Cade Thompson, Callie and Cameron Thompson, and Kord and Kaulder Entze; brother, Terry (Marlene) Thompson of Washburn; sister, Betty Grenier of Rolette; brother-in-law, Donald "Skeezix" (Julie) Lentz of Rolla; and sister-in-law, Charlotte Thompson of Rolette.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Pearl Thompson, wife, Bernadine "Susie" Thompson, grandson, Derek Thompson, brother, Dean Thompson, and brother-in-law, Ronnie Grenier.

Casket Bearers are grandchildren, Zachary Thompson, Aaron Thompson, Dallas Havig, Alexis Entze, Austin Havig, and Braden Kessel. Honorary Bearers are all family and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Valle Lutheran Church, Rolette, ND with visitation 2 Hours prior to services in the church.  Burial will follow funeral services at Rolette City Cemetery, Rolette, ND. Pastor Gene Wilson officiating.
