Thayne Marcellais, age 23, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024.

Thayne Elliott Reed Marcellais was born on March 24, 2001 to Rosalyn Marcellais and Austin Harris.  He attended schools in San Leandro, California, Talkeetna, Alaska and Belcourt, ND. He completed his education at Turtle Mountain Community High School where he enjoyed wrestling and football.

After high school Thayne moved back to Alaska earning his CDL along with many certifications opening the door to great employment opportunities. He was a driver/operator for Worley supporting a large-scale green field oil and gas development project on the north slope of Alaska. Upon hearing of his passing, a Superintendent from Prudhoe Bay emailed his mother to let her know what a great guy and employee Thayne was for them, as well as to say he got along great with his crew and that his 'slope family' will miss him. Thayne occasionally worked for his father at Harris Oil when he was home from a hitch.

He enjoyed working on and driving race cars, his corvette, GMC pick-up, as well operating heavy equipment, but his favorite was his new Ford pick-up. Thayne loved the outdoors, being on the water, fishing, riding his Harley and just listening to music. Thayne had many favorite things, cooking out, hiking, running/working out and shooting his guns. He was a very loving and caring young man, willing to give you the shirt off of his back in any situation.  Family meant the world to Thayne, always cherishing the time he spent with family and friends, often calling his grandparents and cousins just to let them know he was thinking of them. Thayne will be forever missed by his family members and friends and lovingly remembered.

Thayne is survived by his mother, Rosalyn Marcellais of Meadow Lakes, AK; father, Austin Harris of Belcourt; grandparents, Kaven and Melissa Valle; Linus Morin, Tanja Harris, and Lynn LaRocque; brothers, Monroe Mitchell of Stockton, CA and Jemmy Miller of Meadow Lakes, AK; girlfriend, Sadie LaRocque; godparents, Lonnie Allery and Joni Lafountaine of Belcourt; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Thayne was preceded in death by great grandparents, Patrick and Ruthie Marcellais and Quentin and Jeanette Harris, great uncles, Brian Marcellais and Sidney Harris, great aunt, Monica Marcellais.

A visitation will begin at 5:00 PM on Friday, July 5, 2024 at Derrick Dixon Event Center, Belcourt, ND.  A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Derrick Dixon Event Center, Belcourt, ND.
