Obituary

Tanner Langan, age 30, of Devils Lake, ND formerly of St. John, ND passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2026 near Belcourt, ND.

Tanner Everett Langan was born on October 5, 1995 in Rolla, ND to Gary and Kathleen (Krebsbach) Langan. He was raised in St. John and completed his education there as well, graduating from St. John High School in 2014. He furthered his education at Bismarck State College to become a lineman. He was currently employed by Ottertail as a lead lineman, his co-workers easily became like family to him, fishing and participating in activities outside of work together. Tanner wasn’t just a wonderful co-worker to many, but a loving son to his parents, a great brother, and the best father to his children, Hayes and Rhenlee, whom he cherished and who became his entire world. He also adored being an uncle to Hattie and Theo. Tanner enjoyed being outdoors fishing, hunting, and golfing. He also liked wrestling and football, some sports he was very accomplished at, and forever a “Woodchuck.” Tanner was the light of many lives not only within his family but many throughout his community. He will be forever missed and lovingly remembered.

Tanner is survived by his children, Hayes Langan and Rhenlee Langan of Devils Lake; parents, Gary and Kathleen Langan of St. John; brother, Brady (Channing Mears) Langan of Rolla and their children, Hattie and Theo; aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous friends.

Tanner was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eugene “Everett” and Betty Krebsbach and Art and Evelyn Langan.

Casket Bearers are Brady Langan, Kevin Krebsbach, Kiefer Langan, Nick Martin Jr., Averill DeMers, and Brian Gable. Honorary Casket Bearers are James Langan, Drew DeMers, Joe Mickelson, Jason Hanson, Dalton Poitra, and Andrew Hanretty, along with all family and friends—especially the families with whom we enjoyed fishing, camping, and countless potluck/game nights and sporting activities.
