Steven Azure, age 65, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Monday, July 8, 2024 at Quentin Burdick Memorial Hospital, Belcourt, ND.

Steven Ray Azure, also known to many as "Little Steve Azure," was born on September 9, 1958 in Belcourt, ND to Steve and Alice (Patnaude) Azure.  He was raised in Belcourt and completed his education there as well, graduating from Turtle Mountain Community High School in 1976. While in high school Steven was a state qualifier in wrestling, taking 4th place at the state event, and was a basketball player. Steven was united in marriage to Cindy Olson on June 30, 1977 and together they had a son, Jamie.  They later divorced. Steven married Mary Patton on February 12, 1988 and together they had a daughter, Eva and a son, Steve Jr. They later divorced, remaining close to both of his children's mother's. He loved his family and the time that they spent together, especially picking berries with his grandchildren, cooking omelets for his family, and building the parade float together.  Steven worked as a carpenter throughout his life, owning and operating SRA Construction as a contractor. He enjoyed the outdoors, mowing his yard, playing softball, fishing, and racing cars.  He liked playing cards, darts, and pool and going to the casino.  Steven was an avid reader, liked cheering on his Chicago Bears, and watching western movies. Some of his favorite things included socializing with family and friends, Hershey bars, and Coca Cola.  Steven will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Steven is survived by his children, Jamie Azure, Eva (Colt) Sully, and Steve Azure Jr., all of Belcourt; grandchildren, Ashlyn, Bailey, Sophie, Rylee, and Alice; brothers, Blaine Azure, Gaylen Azure, and Ernie Azure, all of Belcourt; sisters, Donna (Billy) McEwen of Belcourt, Wanda Swagger of Bismarck, and Jeanita (Kerry) Salmeron; and many nieces and nephews.

Steven was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Alice Azure, grandparents, Norman and Emma Azure and Gilbert and Margaret Patnaude, and an infant brother, Donovan.

A visitation will begin at 6:00 PM on Sunday, July 14, 2024 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, July 15, 2024 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND.  Burial will follow in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND.
