Stella Longie, age 94, of Dunseith, ND passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024 at Quentin Burdick Memorial Hospital, Belcourt, ND.

Stella Florestine Longie was born on June 18, 1929 in Belcourt, ND to Alfred and Cecelia (Keplin) Allard.  She was raised in Belcourt and completed her education there as well.  Stella was united in marriage to Verlin Longie on July 17, 1947 in Belcourt.  Together they raised two children, Dan and Sally.  Stella worked at San Haven State Hospital until is closure in the kitchen and housekeeping departments. She then became a wonderful homemaker, wife, and mother.  She adored spending time with her family members, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and recently her great great grandchild.  Stella enjoyed going to the casino, driving, playing cards, baking and cooking with family.  She liked looking at and taking care of her beautiful petunias in the summertime right outside her window.  Stella also enjoyed time with her niece, Debbie Cote and best friend, Mildred Nadeau and her daughters, as they were all very good friends. Stella will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Stella is survived by her son, Dan (Julie) Longie of Bottineau; daughter, Sally Longie of Dunseith; six grandchildren, Danielle Longie, Devin Longie, Darrell LaVallie Jr., Amanda (Dakota) Longie, Cody Longie, and Brady (Bri) Longie; eight great grandchildren, Justyce, Jerzee, Jacie, Jayden, Collen, MaKinley, Ariyah, and Samuel; great great grandchild, Avanii; brother, Bill Allard of Bottineau; special niece, Debbie Cote; and many nieces and nephews.

Stella was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Cecelia Allard, husband, Verlin Longie, sisters, Beulah (Leo) McCloud and Gladys (Sylvester) Grant, brother, Steve (Leona) Allard, sister-in-law, Verna Allard, nieces, Sandy LaFromboise and Jeanie Belgarde.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 19, 2024 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Dunseith, ND with a visitation beginning at 8:00 AM and Rosary Service at 9:00 AM prior to the funeral mass.  Burial will be in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Dunseith, ND in the spring.
