Stanley Peltier, age 42, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at SMP-St. Kateri Hospital, Rolla, ND.

Stanley Joseph Peltier was born on February 14, 1984 at Trinity Hospital, Minot, ND to Gary "Porky" and Lorna (McNabb) Peltier.  From the start, Stanley brought energy, talent, and heart into the lives of those around him.  He grew up surrounded by family and friends and built many strong relationships throughout his life.

Stanley was known as a hardworking man who believed in doing his best and taking care of the people he loved.  He faced life with determination and strength and people respected him for his work ethic and loyalty to family and friends.

Growing up, Stanley was also a very talented athlete.  He was an amazing basketball and baseball player and competed with passion and dedication.  His skills on the court and the field helped lead his teams to championships in both sports.  Sports were something he loved and took pride in, and many people remember the way he played the game with heart and determination.

Music was another one of Stanley's greatest passions.  He was a gifted guitar player who loved spending time playing music.  Whether he was playing by himself or sharing music with others, it brought him peace and happiness.

Above everything else, Stanley was most proud of being a father. His five beautiful children, Van, Stanley Jr., Swayne, Sterling, and Sapphira, were the center of his world.  He loved them deeply and would do anything for them. His children were his greatest joy and the part of his life he cherished the most.

Stanley will always be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his love of music, his athletic talent, and his deep love for his children and family. Though he is gone too soon, the memories he created and the love he shared will live on forever.

His legacy continues through his children, family, and the many people whose lives he touched.

Stanley is loved and remembered by his mother, Lorna Peltier; his sister, Eva (Bob) Longie; brothers, Gary Jr., Gerald, Ray, and John; his beloved children, Van, Stanley Jr., Swayne, Sterling, and Sapphira; step-children, Brandon, Donovan, Farrah, and Greyson Swain; nieces, Aleana Peltier, Shanice (Tyrese) LaVallie, Remington Longie, Sadie Longie, and Bella Longie; nephews, Landon LaVallie, Fierce Longie, Rennan Longie, Aydan Longie, and Brennon Ostby; great niece, Lilliana Peltier; great nephews, Ryker and Soren Johnson; Godchild, Aleana Peltier; aunties, Genny Hanson, Vivian (Darrin) Waples, Faye Peltier, and Debra Laducer; uncles, Glenn (John) McNabb, Donny (Laurie) McNabb, and Tony (Clarice) Charette; along with numerous cousins.

Stanley was preceded in death by his father, Gary Peltier Sr., grandparents, Joe and Eva Peltier and Raymond and Alfreida McNabb, nephew, Kenai Longie, uncles, Raymond (Lorna Jean) McNabb, Bill McNabb, Gerald Peltier, Vincent Peltier, Chuck Hanson, Larry LaVallie, and David Laducer, auntie, Shirley Vallejo, and several cousins.

Casket Bearers are Van Peltier, Stanley Peltier jr., Swayne Peltier, Gerald Peltier, Gary Peltier Jr., Landon LaVallie, Bob Longie, Lionel Poitra Jr., and Brandon Swain. Eulogy by Sherri L. Counts. Drum Group is Eagle Nation.

A visitation will begin 4:00 PM at Eagle Heart Cultural Center (Log Cabin), Dunseith, ND on Monday, March 16, 2026.  A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at Eagle Heart Cultural Center (Log Cabin) in Dunseith, ND.  Burial will take place in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND in the spring.
