Stanislaus Lattergrass Sr, age 68 of Belcourt, N.D. passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at his home.

Stanislaus Dave Lattergrass Sr. was born on November 12, 1956 in Breckenridge, MN to Robert Lattergrass Sr. and Bernice Laverdure. He attended many different schools throughout his education and he graduated from Turtle Mountain Community High School in Belcourt ND in 1975. Stan attended trade school in Whapeton, N.D. then he became a carpenter. In 1980 Stan moved to Willison, ND for work, he met Rhonda Marion and they were joined in marriage on August 15, 1981. From this marriage they had three children: Stanislaus Dave Lattergrass II, Tyson Lee Lattergrass, Kateri Marie (Lattergrass) Marion. In 1985 Stan and Rhonda moved back to Belcourt where he worked various construction jobs. This marriage later ended in divorce, and Stan moved to Fargo, ND there he worked construction until moving back to his home in Belcourt. He then dedicated many of his years to the Sky Dancer Casino.  Stan traveled all around the world with his close friend Fr. Frank Miller. Every trip he would make he was sure to bring his three children gifts home. Stan enjoyed attending concerts and especially Keplin Fest and having the same spot each year. He enjoyed social media and had over 5,000 followers on Tik Tok alone. He enjoyed sports, cheering on his Houston Texans and Chicago Cubs. Stan was a master carpenter, he liked the outdoors, golfing, skiing, fishing and stopping to play pull tabs. Stan also had a love for watching and betting on horse racing. He was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus in Belcourt. Stan had a very special uncle, Ernest (Tiny) Lattergrass. Stan was so proud when he became a grandfather. His whole life was about his children and grandchildren. He had a very strong faith and enjoyed going to mass online. After Stan became ill, Tyson moved back home from Fargo to live with and help take care of his dad. They truly were best friends. Stan would call his sons often to go shopping, doctor visits, or whatever else he wanted or needed to go. He loved that Kateri was his only daughter and would often boast of her. He was very proud of his children and loved them dearly. Stan was always close to his mother and father, after his father's passing, he watched over his mother with great love. He was a proud grandpa of Jeiden Lattergrass, Gabriel Lattergrass, Chase Desjarlais, TeyShuan Lilley, Saydee Rose, JohnPaul Marion and Jackson Marion. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Stan was preceded in death by his father, Robert Dave Lattergrass Sr, his brother, Robert Lattergrass Jr, his maternal grandparents, Bill and Delima LaVendure, paternal grandparents, John and Clemence Lattergrass, his nephew, Levi Lattergrass, niece, Laurel (Coco) Lattergrass, great niece, Brea Marion, and many aunts and uncles.

He leaves behind his children, Stan Lattergrass II, Tyson Lattergrass, and Kateri (Tanya) Lattergrass-Marion; grandchildren, Jeiden Lattergrass, Gabriel Lattergrass, Chase Desjarlais, TeyShuan Lilley, Saydee Rose, JohnPaul Marion and Jackson Marion; mother, Bernice Smith and step-father, Harvey Smith; brother, Terry Lattergrass; sister, Theresa Parisien; nieces, Bobbi Michelle, Abigail, Brandy, Crystal, LaRae and Alyssa; and many other loved ones.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, December 30, 2024 at Fiddler's Hall, Belcourt, ND with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM and Rosary Service at Noon prior to funeral services.  A meal will follow services at Fiddler's Hall, Belcourt, ND.
