Sheila Nadeau, age 54, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

Sheila Jean Nadeau, Andobaniikwe – Seeking Victory Woman, was born on December 4, 1967 in Belcourt, ND to Gene Albert Bruce Sr. and Velma Ann Bruce. She obtained her GED in 1986 and then furthered her education at TMCC receiving an accounting degree and CNA/CMA and QSP, as well as starting on her computer specialist degree.  She was united in marriage to Melvin Nadeau on April 26, 1988 and renewed their vows on September 26, 1998.  Sheila worked at Uniband, the Bingo Palace, Skydancer Casino and Resort (Simulcast 1992-2017), at Walmart for a short time, and SMP Heath St. Kateri (CNA 2019 until present time). She enjoyed going fishing, working on crafts, and being around her children and grandchildren.  She also liked working with the cows, camping, bingo, "pushing the buttons (casino and slots), and gardening, loving working in the flowerbeds, cookouts, and riding horses.  Sheila enjoyed summers being in the hayfield and loved traveling to "town."  She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Sheila is survived by her husband, Melvin Nadeau of Belcourt; children, Wrangler James Nadeau (Jerrica Nadeau) of Belcourt, Amber Lynn Houle (Raymond Houle) of Bismarck, Brittany Nadeau (Todd Desjarlais) of Belcourt, Kristine Jean Nadeau of Belcourt, Ariel Jamie Nadeau (Clifton Vivier) of Rolette, and Melvin James Nadeau Jr. of Bismarck; 18 grandchildren, Jocelyn, Julian, Paula, Zayden, DaMarion, Zohe, Landyn, Destin, Zyler, Elijah, Tyler, Zander, Darwin, Jensen, Harlynn, Jayden, Brody, and Amara; mother, Velma Bruce of Belcourt; siblings, Russell (Patsy) Bruce, Allen Bruce Sr., Roderick Bruce Sr., Ramona (Chris) Greene, Alberta (Jesse) Short, Gene (Stephanie) Bruce Jr., and Reene (Jill) Bruce; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Sheila was preceded in death by her father, Gene A. Bruce Sr., daughter, Lacy Lynn Nadeau, grandparents, Ann and Robert Bruce and Mary and Fredrick LaVallie, father and mother-in-law, Dennis and Joan Belgarde, and numerous family members.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 10:00 AM in St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND.
