Sharon Martin, age 73, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2025 at Quentin Burdick Memorial Hospital, Belcourt, ND.

Sharon Gail Martin, "Thunder Bird Woman" was born on July 21, 1952 in Rolla, ND to LeRoy and Cecelia (Vondal) Martin.  She was raised in Belcourt and completed her education there as well.  She furthered her education at college for two years.  Sharon was a loving mother to four children, Michael, Crystal, Christopher, and Cecelia, as well as to her step-children, Memory, Nevesa, Dennis Jr., Denise, and Dorrit.  She worked at the Skydancer Casino in Belcourt.  Sharon loved spending time and visiting with her friends and family members, especially her grandchildren.  She had a wonderful personality, and everyone loved her smile. Sharon liked playing bingo, going to the casino, going for rides, and playing cards.  She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her family and many friends.

Sharon is survived by her children, Michael (Tina) Martin of Belcourt, Crystal PoniCappo of Bottineau, Christopher PoniCappo of Belcourt, and Cecelia PoniCappo of Belcourt; step-children, Memory PoniCappo of Rolla, Nevesa (Dominic LittleOwl) PoniCappo of Billings, MT, and Dorrit (William) Eagleventer of Poplar, MT; 23 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sibling, Pat (Maria) Martin of Minneapolis, MN, Dennis Martin of Belcourt, Betty Martin of Belcourt, Rita (Alfred) DeCoteau of Dunseith, Jeanie Parisien of Belcourt, Gaylene Martin of Belcourt, Charles Martin of Belcourt, and Randy Martin of Belcourt; and many nieces and nephews.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, special friend, Dennis PoniCappo, stepson, Dennis PoniCappo Jr., step-daughter, Denise PoniCappo, and grandchildren, Forest Webber and Nathaniel LeBeau.

Casket Bearers are Bradley Belgarde, Eric DeCoteau, Trenton Gunville, Jacob Martin, Allen Parisien, Lucas Martin, and Clayton Houle. Honorary Bearers are all family and friends.

A visitation will be held at 6:00 PM on Sunday, December 28, 2025 at Fiddler's Hall, Belcourt, ND.  A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 29, 2025 at Fiddler's Hall, Belcourt, ND.  Burial will take place at St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND at a later date.
