Ryne Malaterre, age 33, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022 at his home.

Ryne Christopher Malaterre was born on October 8, 1988 in Rolla, ND to Rodney Malaterre and Joyce DeCoteau.  He was raised in Belcourt and completed his education there as well.  Ryne was the proud father of three children, JohnPaul, Gavin, and Ryne Jr.  He worked in the area with construction and insulation jobs.  Ryne enjoyed playing sports in his younger years, especially wrestling and basketball.  He also was an avid dog lover, often bring strays home to care for.  According to his family, he was also very good at cutting hair.  He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by all.

Ryne is survived by his parents, Rodney Malaterre and Joyce DeCoteau, both of Belcourt; children, JohnPaul Marion of Surrey, Gavin Malaterre of St. John, and Ryne Malaterre Jr. of Belcourt; and siblings, Blaine "Botchay" Azure Jr. of Belcourt and Tasha Davis of Bismarck.

Ryne was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dennis and Geraldine DeCoteau and Francis and Lucy Malaterre, along with several aunts and uncles.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, May 13, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with visitation beginning at 8:00 AM and Rosary Service at 9:00 AM.  Burial will follow in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND.
