Ruth Ann Baker, age 89, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at SMP-St. Kateri Hospital, Rolla, ND.

Ruth Ann (Martin) Baker was born on June 30, 1935 in Belcourt, ND to Edward and Agnes (Montriel) Martin.  She was raised in Belcourt and attended school in Stephan, SD.  Ruth Ann was untied in marriage to David Baker and had their marriage blessed in 1955.  Together they raised seven children, Debra, Natalie, Melissa, John, Gerard, Eddie and Corey. Ruth Ann worked for Dakota Tribal Industries for many years.  She enjoyed music, reading, playing nickels at the casino, and watching television, especially her soap operas.  Ruth Ann loved spending time with her family members and friends, and most of all her grandchildren.  She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sister, and many friends.

Ruth Ann is survived by her children, Debra Sort of Belcourt, Natalie Rue of Belcourt, Melissa (Paul) Poitra of Belcourt, John (Alice) Scott of Belcourt, Gerard "Pee-Wee" Scott of Belcourt, Eddie (Faye) Scott of Belcourt, and Corey Baker of Belcourt; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Beverly (Pat) Reed of Manville; and nieces and nephews.

Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, David Baker, brothers, Edward and James, sister, Ethel, great grandson, Noah, and uncle, Ray Montriel.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at St. Ann's Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 8:00 AM and Rosary Service at 9:00 AM prior to the funeral mass.
