Rupert "John" Pepion, age 76, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Friday, August 8, 2025 at Quentin Burdick Memorial Hospital, Belcourt, ND.

Rupert John Pepion was born on January 5, 1949 in Browning, MT to Harvey and Barbara (Uphman) Pepion.  He was raised in Montana and completed his education there as well.  Rupert furthered his education at University of North Dakota obtaining a bachelor's degree in art. He was a natural born artist.  Rupert was united in marriage to Marma Wilkie in 1982 in Cutbank, MT.  He was the father of two daughters of CO and his step-children.  Rupert loved traveling with Marma, eating out, fishing, and going to the casino.  He was a loving grandpa to 31 grandchildren making many wonderful memories with them. He had so much patience for his grandchildren, making many wonderful meals side by side with his grandchildren.  In his younger years in Montana, he fondly remembered time spent with his family, especially his uncle, Webb Pepion, who was very influential in his life.  Rupert will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by many

Rupert is survived by his wife, Marma Pepion of Belcourt; two daughters, Denna Robley and Joanne RedWillow of Denver Colorado; step-children, Rene Marion of Grand Forks, Joseph Marion of Sante Fe, NM, Brian Marion of Belcourt, Rhonda Marion-Schindler of Las Vegas, NV, John Marion, and Todd Marion, both of Belcourt; 31 grandchildren and many great grandchildren; his siblings, Hattie (Gerald) Gagnon  of Grand Portage, MN, Eva (Ron) OldShield of Cutbank, MT, and April Pepion of Great Falls, MT; cousins and many nieces and nephews.

Rupert was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Phyllis Pepion, and brothers, Robin Pepion, Dennis and Kenneth "Jr" Sellars

At the request of Rupert, a private family burial will take place in Browning, MT.
