Roy Herman Jr., age 69, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026 at his home.

Roy Joseph Herman Jr. was born on August 29, 1956 in Belcourt, ND to Roy Sr. and Roselda (LeDoux) Herman.  He was raised in Belcourt and completed his education there as well. Roy was the proud father of five children, Jason, Travis, AJ, Ronilyn, and LeVon.  He was a wonderful handyman, built his own home, and worked for the Green Thumb program for many years.  Roy enjoyed socializing, going to the casino, and time outdoors fishing.  He loved time spent with the children and grandchildren.  He had a great sense of humor and was often joking with family and friends.  He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Roy Jr. is survived by his children, Jason (Ashley) Herman of Williston, Travis (Janie) Herman of New Town, and AJ Herman of Belcourt; long-time companion, Lorna Charbonneau of Belcourt; grandchildren, Desmond, Kasia, Tristan, Elijah, Tyree, Shay, Ndaanis, Niibin, and Nodin; great grandchildren, Rhett, Kehlani, Alina, and Amora; siblings, Joe (Gerty) Herman, Velma (Earl) Wilkie, Steven Herman, Tommy Herman, Delilah (Dean) Martin, Debbie (Duane) Longie, Butch Heman, and Louella Herman; and many nieces and nephews.

Roy Jr. was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Ronilyn Jo Herman, son, LeVon DeCoteau, and siblings, Cletus, Tootsie, Girley, Roger, Alfred, and Bertha.

Urn Bearer is Desmond Herman. Music by Craig Lunday and Alvin Poitra. Rosary led by Roseanne Trottier. Prayer Readers by Tristan Zaste and Elijah Swain. Eulogy by Jeanette Poitra.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 20, 2026 at Fiddler's Hall, Belcourt, ND with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM and Rosary Service at 10:00 AM. Deacon Fatty Davis presiding.
