Rose Marie Keplin, age 75, of Belcourt, ND made her spirit journey on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Trinity Hospital, Minot, ND surrounded by family.
Rose Marie Keplin was born on February 25, 1945 in Belcourt, ND to Fred and Liza (Allery) Keplin. She was raised in Belcourt and attended school at St. Ann's Mission, the Turtle Mountain Community School, and graduated high school in Flandreau, SD. She furthered her education at The Denver Business College in Colorado and also graduated from the University of North Dakota with her BSW in social work.
Throughout her life, Rose lived many places, Los Angeles, CA, Denver, CO, Minneapolis, MN, finally settling in Belcourt, ND with her spouse Vincent DeCoteau. Rose worked as a Dental Assistant at the HIS, and later as a social worker for the Turtle Mountain Child Welfare, fostering many children. Rose also worked at Rolette County Social Services until retirement. She loved time spent with family members and friends, her sisters "the old dolls," her best friend Shirley, and especially her grandchildren (whom she lovingly referred to as her Babooshes). Rose loved gardening, canning, and especially enjoyed listening to her favorite comedian "Kat Williams." Rose will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.
Rose is survived by her daughter, Vinessa (Tim) Keplin-Houle of Belcourt; two grandchildren, Tinessa and Jamason; Godchild, Billie Jo Gladue; siblings, Linus (Connie Counts) Keplin, Richard (Shirley St. Claire) Keplin, Carol Sims, Debbie "Chook" (Mokie) Martin, Sharon Baker; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter, Vincenta, spouse, Vincent DeCoteau, sisters, Lauretta Keplin and Linda Jo Gladue, and brothers, Alfred "Fritzie" Keplin, Frank J. Keplin, Russell Kenny Keplin, and Carl Dean Keplin, brothers-in-law, Peter Gladue, Tony Sims, and Frank Baker, sister-in-law, Zaneta Keplin, niece, Brooke Henry, nephew, Jason Allery, and Godchild, Michael "Chi-Mike" Keplin.
A visitation will begin at 8:00 AM on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with a Rosary/Eulogy at 9:00 AM and Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM.
