Rose Marie Berg, age 86, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at Trinity Hospital, Minot, ND.

Rose Marie Berg was born on February 16, 1937 in Belcourt, ND to Frank and Mary (Houle) Grant.  She was raised in Belcourt and completed her education there as well.  She furthered her education at United Tribes Technical College with her practical nursing degree and LPN license. Rose was united in marriage to Sylvester "peeyashee" Vivier in 1952 and together they had 12 children, Carla, Lyman, Carleen, Gary, Glenn, Beverly, Gladys, Bryan, Daryl, Dale, Sylvester Jr., and Mary Margaret.

Rose had a love for nursing, after retiring in her 70's, she enjoyed casino trips, family gatherings, Sunday dinners, cards, and rummaging.  Throughout her life she traveled and lived numerous places and worked in different care facilities as a charge nurse.  She later moved back to Rolette and continued her career as a charge nurse in the Rolette Care Facility up until her retirement.

Rose is survived by her children, Carla (Alfred) Schroeder of Dunseith, Carleen (Tom) Winfrey of Kingman, AZ, Gladys (Mike) Azure of Dunseith, Dale (Judy) Vivier of Bismarck, and Sylvester Vivier Jr. of Rolette.

Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Sylvester "peeyashee" Vivier Sr., children, Lyman, Gary, Glenn, Beverly, Bryan, Daryl, and Mary Margaret, son-in-law, Alfred Schroeder Sr., grandsons, Darryll IronShooter Jr., Alfred Schroeder Jr., and Michael Bercier, and granddaughter, Amanda Azure.

Casket Bearers are Steven Schroeder, Robert Hulett Sr., Tyler Vivier, Tyrell Vivier, Bryan "Beegee" Vivier, Jamie Bercier, Joseph Morin, and Joseph Vivier.

A visitation will begin at 5:00 PM on Monday, November 6, 2023 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with Father Fred Alexander presiding.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.
