Ronald Unger, age 79, of Rolla, ND passed away peacefully on Monday, July 13, 2026 at Vibra Hospital, Fargo, ND.

Ronald "Ronnie" Joseph Unger was born on March 27, 1947 in Fort Francis, Ontario to Joseph and Irene (Deschamp) Unger.  Ronald attended elementary school in Ontario and then finished his education at Rolla High School.  He was united in marriage to Gwen Jerome on October 24, 1987 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Belcourt.  He was the proud father of two children, Nicole and Jeff, a loving husband and father.  Ronald worked for various farmers in farming operations throughout the years.  He also worked for Kimberly Clark Corporation, Murphy's Sanitation, Integra and Leonardo Noodles in Cando, and for the Rolla Hospital. Ronald enjoyed wrestling, the outdoors fishing and playing croquet, and playing cards, especially 500, with family and friends.  He also liked feeding his beloved squirrels daily.  Ronald will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Gwen of Rolla; children, Nicole of Fargo and Jeff of Fargo; and brother, Eddie of Rolla.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Irene Unger and two sisters, Jane Snow and Eva Mattson.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at Elick Funeral Home, Rolla, ND. Father Thai Arul presiding.
