Robert "Bob" Gault, age 88, of Rolla, ND passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at SMP-St. Kateri Hospital, Rolla, ND.

Robert "Bob" Raymond Gault was born on February 27, 1938, in Cando, ND to Paul and Rosalie (Jorgensen) Gault.  He was raised in Bisbee, ND, graduating from Bisbee High School in 1957. He furthered his education at North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton obtaining degrees in auto mechanics and diesel maintenance in 1959.  Bob was united in marriage to Beatrix Haberstroh on December 28, 1959, in Bisbee, ND.  Together they raised five children, Pauline, Mavis, Marie, Freda, and Earl.

He spent many years farming and truck driving, taking pride in hard work and the land he loved. He was a member of the Rock Lake School Board, the church council, Dale Hawk Museum volunteer and served on the Cass Clay Creamery Board of Directors. In retirement, he could often be found tending to his garden, happily wearing his signature bib overalls as he nurtured what he planted. The outdoors brought him peace especially at the lake, holding a fishing pole.

Faith was the foundation of Bob's life. He was a firm believer in God and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. In his later years his faith manifested itself by giving back and supporting others in need of help in his community.

Bob loved time spent with family, dancing with his wife, and especially time with his grandchildren. He had a wonderful sense of humor, loved to visit and tell stories, bringing a smile to those around him.  He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Bob is survived by his wife of 66 years, Beatrix Gault of Rolla; children, Pauline (Tim) Wuori of Rolla, Mavis (Terry) Carter of Rock Lake, Marie (Kevin) Kakela of Hansboro, Freda (Wayne) Oakland of Fargo, and Earl (Rena Tandeski) Gault of Rolla; grandchildren, Luke (Breanna) Wuori, Brett Wuori, Malynda (Jay) Penner, Troy (Jeri) Carter, Kayla (Adam) Held, Megan (Colt) Muscatell, Kyle (Lauren) Kakela, Tyrel (Asia Nelson) Oakland, Rachel (John) Myhre, and Faith Gault; 22 great grandchildren; sister, Dora (Butch) Colvin of Udall, KS; brother-in-law, Trent (Wynn) Haberstroh; sisters-in-law, Vernice Krick and Glenda Haberstroh; and many nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Rosalie (Lien) Gault, infant brother, Paul Gault Jr., brother, William "Bill" (Marlene) Gault and sisters-in-law, Pearl Haberstroh, Jean (Bernard) Haugen, brothers-in-law, Joe Haberstroh, Kendall Haberstroh, and Thomas Krick.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 4, 2026 at United Methodist Church, Rolla, ND. Pastor Timothy McDowell and Dave Schnackenberg officiating. Burial will take place at Rolla City Cemetery, Rolla, ND.
