Rita Brien, age 87, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2022 at her home.

Rita Priscilla Brien was born on October 20, 1934 in Belcourt, ND to Fred and Mary (Parisien) Poitra.  She was raised in Belcourt and completed her education there as well.  Rita was the proud mother of five sons, Keith, Wade, Kenny, Jerry, and Bobby.  She was a wonderful homemaker throughout the years while caring for her family.  She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Rita is survived by her sons, Keith (Joan Azure) Brien of Belcourt, Wade Brien of Bismarck, Jerry (Billie Jo Gladue) Brien of Belcourt, and Robert "Bobby" (Leah) Brien of Minot; 14 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; brother, Ed Poitra of Salt Lake City, UT; and many nieces and nephews.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents, son, Kenny, granddaughter, Rebecca DuBois, great grandchildren, Shayla Lenoir, Rylen DuBois, and Greyson Parisien, and siblings, Joseph Poitra, Oscar Poitra, Elmer Poitra, Dominic Poitra, Billy Poitra, Patrick Poitra, and Mary Frances Poitra.

Casket Bearers are PJ Brien, Austin Laducer, Rayvin DuBois, Brandon Brien, Kalon Brien, and Liam DuBois.  Honorary Bearers are all family and friends.  Music by Terry Baker, Jeff Laducer, McKenzie Marcellais, and Patty Allery.

A visitation will begin at 6:30 PM on Sunday, October 2, 2022 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with Rosary Service at 8:00 PM.  Funeral Mass will be Monday, October 3, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with Fr. Tony Hession, SOLT presiding.  Burial will follow in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND.
