Rita Allery, age 87, of St. John, ND passed away on Friday, December 17, 2021 at St. Kateri Hospital, Rolla, ND.

Rita Ann Allery was born on August 7, 1934 a home in St. John, ND to Edward and Rose (Allard) Bercier.  She finished her GED and furthered her education at TMCC in Belcourt obtaining a degree in early childhood.  She was united in marriage to Eugene Allery at St. Ann's Catholic Church on November 24, 1953 and they celebrated 68 years together, raising two children, Brian and Carol Lea.  Rita worked at the Jewel Plant in Rolla for many years and also as manager/meal coordinator for the Belcourt Retirement Home.  She loved baking and was always in the kitchen.  In her younger years she enjoyed sewing and played guitar.  On occasion she would sit on the fence post and play and sing to the cows.  Rita loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren with all of her heart, all of them making her so happy when they were near.  Her favorite past time was going to bingo and working on crossword puzzles.  She loved the family dogs that they had throughout the years.  Rita and Eugene enjoyed traveling together, visiting many different states, and going for rides, no place in particular, and stop and eat at a restaurant during their travels.  They often traveled around the beautiful Turtle Mountains taking in the scenery and wildlife they came across, sometimes stopping for her favorite foods, Chinese and ice cream.  Rita was a devout catholic and belonged to the St. John Christian Mothers Association.  She will be dearly missed by her family members and many friends.

Rita is survived by her loving husband, Eugene Allery of St. John; son, Brian Allery of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, George "JR", Shaun (Shyleen), Amanda (Chris), and Rikkanda; six great grandchildren, Xander, Landan, Rhianda, Carol, Kennedy, and Zennon; two sisters, Jeanette (Larry) Christianson of Great Falls, MT and JoAnn (Terry) Lawler of Rolla; and many nieces and nephews.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Rose Bercier, daughter, Carol Lea Allery, grandson, Colt Allery, brothers, Arthur and Edward, niece, Terry Rose, and father and mother-in-law, Eugene and Virginia Allery.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 20, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, St. John, ND with visitation beginning at 8:00 AM and Rosary Service at 9:00 AM.  Burial will be held in Holy Cross Cemetery, St. John, ND in the spring of 2022.
