Richard Azure Sr., age 67, of San Jose, Calif., passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at San Jose Regional Medical Center, San Jose, Calif.

Richard Bryan Azure Sr. was born on January 6, 1952 to Ernest Azure and Florence DeCoteau in Rapid City, South Dakota. He was the eldest of 20 children. As a young boy he was moved to California, where he met his first wife, Marie Ann Azure. Bryan and Marie were married for 16 years and welcomed three wonderful children into the world. November 22nd 1986, Bryan married his soulmate, best friend, and his "forever and ever" love of his life, as Randy Travis would say, Betty Jane Carini-Azure. Although we said Betty was the love of his life, we all know his one true love was fishing.

Bryan was always a kind and caring person. He was loved by everyone who crossed his path. He was always ready to lend a helping hand. Bryan's most cherished memories were with family. He enjoyed all of the family barbecue's, camping trips, football games, cheerleading, dancing, and field shows with his children and grandchildren. Anyone who knew Bryan knew is family meant the world to him.

Bryan leaves behind his wife, Betty Jane Carini-Azure; children, Grace (Thomas) Azure-James, Richard (Marissa) Azure, Erica (Tito) Spriggs, children at heart, Tracy Diaz, Marcus (Yesenia) Trujillo, and Michael Trujillo; brothers and sisters, Frank, Joseph, Arthur, Raymond, Ernest Jr., Keith, Debbie, Linda, Karen, Ricky, Lisa, and Becky; grandchildren, Gabrielle, Bianca, Richard III, Christopher, Nathaniel, and Vanessa Azure, Samuel Martinez Jr., Aliyah and Alyssa Lucero, Mathew, Joseph, Janee, and Mia Spriggs, and 19 of North Dakota; nieces and nephews, 26 of California and 16 of North Dakota.

Bryan was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Dolly Azure, Francisco Ruiloba, brothers and sisters, James Saldivar, Joan Saldivar, Tomy Ruiloba, and Kim Azure, nephew, Jason Raymond Ruiloba Jr., and great granddaughter, Xiomora Alyce Lucero.

Pallbearers ND are Emerson Chasing Bear, Richard Azure III, Luis Vega, Pat Eagle, Ronnie Chasing Bear, and Candice Cuevas. Honorary Pallbearers CA are Richard Azure III, Christopher Azure, Mathew Spriggs, Samuel Martinez Jr., Joseph Spriggs, and Nathaniel Azure.

Visitation will begin at 3:00 PM on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Fiddler's Hall, Belcourt, ND. Funeral Services will be Monday morning, September 30, 2019 at Fiddler's Hall, Belcourt, ND with burial at St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND at 11:00 AM with Pastor Fred Romero officiating. A meal will follow burial services at Fiddler's Hall, Belcourt, ND.
