Obituary

Resa Swain, age 47, of Parshall, ND passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at Sanford Hospital, Bismarck, ND.

Resa Gayle Swain was born on November 25, 1978 in Belcourt, ND to Frederick and Theresa (Peltier) Swain.  She was raised in Belcourt where she also completed her education and built the foundation of a life centered on family.

Resa was a devoted and proud mother of her five children - Donald, Jocelynn, ReAnne, Dontay, and Abbey – who were the greatest joy of her life.  She cherished every moment spent with them and held her family close to her heart.

Throughout her life, Resa worked in a variety of roles, including bartending, working at Taco John's, and working at a local grocery store.  No matter where she worked, she brought warmth and kindness to those around her.

Resa found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She loved dancing, spending time outdoors fishing and camping, hosting cookouts, and attending festivals. She also enjoyed playing pool and swimming – activities that reflected her lively spirit. She was the life of the party.

Resa will be lovingly remembered for her warmth, her strength, and the deep love she shared with those around her.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Resa is survived by her children, Donald (Diandra) Swain of Parshall, Jocelynn (Christopher) McBride-Campbell of Minot, ReAnne Swain of Parshall, Dontay Swain of Parshall, and Abbey Thomas of Parshall; four grandchildren, Kayleigh Swain, Octavia McBride, Waaseyaa Campbell, and Aubrey Hernandez; siblings, Jeff (Joanne) Grant of Belcourt, Sandra Short of Belcourt, Denise Swain of TN, and Walter Grant of Jamestown; and many nieces and nephews.
