Renessa DeCoteau, age 48, of Minnewaukan, ND passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025 at Sanford Hospital, Fargo, ND.

Renessa Rae DeCoteau was born on January 12, 1977 in Rolla, ND to Bradley Bercier and Elaine (DeCoteau) Baker.  She was raised in Belcourt and completed her education there as well.  Renessa was the mother of six children, Justice, Jade, Mikelle, Scott, Mykia, and Michael.  She was a wonderful homemaker and loved to cook.  She enjoyed dancing, singing, and most of all, going thrifting.  She was a dog mom at heart to Charlie, Blondie, and Romeo and a wonderful person to many who knew her.  Renessa will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Renessa is survived by her children, Justice Defender, Jade Defender, Mikelle Defender, Scott Gapp-DeCoteau, Mykia Gapp-DeCoteau, and Michael DeCoteau; three grandchildren, Maycee, Hazelee, and Mitchell Defender; and half-brother, Marvin Bercier.

Renessa was preceded in death by her mother, Elaine Baker.

Funeral Services will be held in the spring of 2026.
