Rene Strand, age 66, of Rolla, ND passed away peacefully on Friday, May 31, 2024 at SMP St. Kateri Hospital, Rolla, ND.

Rene Marie Strand was born on February 9, 1958 in Rhame, ND to Arthur and Bebe (Hanson) Johnson.  She was raised in Bowman, ND and completed her education there as well.  She furthered her education at Lake Region State College in Devils Lake.  Rene was united in marriage to Richard Strand on January 5, 1980 and together they had four children, Samantha, Michaelah, Jennifer, and Carl.  They later separated.  Rene was a wonderful homemaker, mother, and grandmother.  She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  Rene liked working with her hands, crocheting, cross-stitching, and yarn work.  She enjoyed reading, playing games on her phone, and playing cards.  Rene also liked watching crime shows, CSI, and loved animal planet, especially when penguins were portrayed.  Rene will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Rene is survived by her children, Samantha Strand of Rolla, Michaelah Strand of Rolla, and Carl Strand of Minot; three grandchildren, Jocelyn, Xavier, and Malachi; brothers, Arthur (Marie) Johnson and Harold (Lynne) Johnson; sister, Pat (Johnson) Muldoon; and sister-in-law, Betty Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Johnson and Bebe Johnson-Adrian, daughter, Jennifer Strand, brother, Harry Johnson, and sister, June VanEckhout.

Funeral services be held on Friday, June 7, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Elick Funeral Home, Rolla, ND with visitation 2 Hours prior to services.  Dave Schnackenberg officiating.
