Obituary

Raymond LaFrombois, age 55, of Dunseith, ND passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2020 near Dunseith, ND.


Raymond LaFrombois was born on November 20, 1964 in Belcourt, ND to Romeo and Gladys (Morin) LaFrombois. He was raised in Dunseith and completed his education there as well, graduating from Dunseith High School. Raymond furthered his education at college in Devils Lake for welding and cabinetry. He was united in marriage to Melissa Grant on August 8, 1983 in Belcourt. Together they had four children, Derrick, Mindy, Cassandra, and Ashley. Raymond currently worked at the Skydancer Casino in Belcourt in janitorial services. He enjoyed collecting things and tinkering and fixing with a variety of different projects. He liked the outdoors and taking care of his yard and painting as well. Raymond was always busy doing something. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his family members and many friends.


Raymond is survived by his children, Derrick (Ginger) LaFrombois of Dunseith, Mindy (Jordan Houle) LaFrombois of Belcourt, Cassandra (Chad) Wawryk of Belcourt, and Ashley (Alex) Bercier of Cando; grandchildren, Dawson, Alex, Dalton, Gina, Morgan, Annalise, Anniyah, Derrick, Alexzander, and one granddaughter on the way; and his siblings, Gene (Patty Ann) of Belcourt, George (Gail) of Dunseith, Louie (Ellen) of Belcourt, Billy (Shelly Galow) of Devils Lake, and Carol (Michael) Blevins of Bathgate.


He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, brother, Romeo "Snake" LaFrombois Jr., and sister, Delia "Tootsie" Desjarlais.


A visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday, May 18, 2020 at Elick Funeral Home, Rolla, ND. A Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Dunseith, ND with Fr. Michael Slovak presiding. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Dunseith, ND.
