Raymond "Buddy" Falcon, age 81, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at his home.
Raymond "Buddy" Falcon was born on June 28, 1942 in Belcourt, ND to Robert and Blanche (Patnuade) Falcon. He went to boarding school as a child and finished his schooling in Belcourt. Raymond enlisted in the United States Army in 1966 and received an honorable discharge in 1968. He was united in marriage to Linda Azure on March 2, 1982 in Belcourt. He was the proud father of 15 children, Penny, Crissie, Virginia, Raymond, Peggy, Trina, Karen, Darrell, Stacey, Shawna, Sherry, Erika, Blanche, Clara, and Riel. Raymond worked in construction and trucking for Falcon Trucking and Falcon Construction. He also co-owned Red Bears Fast Food in Belcourt, managed the Legion in Belcourt for many years, and worked in maintenance for the Anishinaabe Camp. Raymond loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He could often be seen drinking a Pepsi and had a wonderful sense of humor, always telling jokes and giving everyone a nickname. He was also a wonderful storyteller. Raymond enjoyed buying and selling cars, trucks, semis and heavy equipment. Raymond enjoyed traveling within the US by car, often stopping to see attractions. He liked leather work, animals, and hobby farming. Raymond will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.
Raymond is survived by his children, Peggy Alaniz of Umatilla, OR, Trina (Timothy Houle) Falcon of Belcourt, Karen Falcon of Fargo, Darrell Falcon of Page, Stacey Belgarde of Fargo, Shawna (Craig) Laducer of Grand Forks, Sherry (Cliff) Peltier of Belcourt, Erika Falcon of Belcourt, Blanche (Dustin) Ojibway of Maple Grove, MN, Clara Falcon of Grand Forks, and Riel (Jessica) Gagnon of Dunseith; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Sandra Falcon of Belcourt and Roberta (Bobby) Baker of Belcourt; and many nieces and nephews.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Blanche Falcon, wife, Linda Falcon, daughters, Penny Falcon, Crissie Falcon, and Virginia Falcon, son, Raymond Falcon, brothers, Robert Falcon, Frank Falcon, and Peter Falcon, sisters, Kathy Falcon, Geraldine Falcon, Pricilla Falcon, and Doris Wallette, and uncle, Lavern "Joe" Falcon.
Casket Bearers are Walter Morin, Gilbert Falcon, Frank Wallette, Peter Falcon, Frank Falcon, and TJ DeCoteau.
A visitation will begin at 6:00 PM on Monday, March 4, 2024 at Fiddler's Hall, Belcourt, ND. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Fiddler's Hall, Belcourt, ND. Burial and Military Honors will take place in the spring of 2024.
