Randolph DeCoteau, age 70, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Saturday, January 21,2023, at his residence in Belcourt, ND.
Randolph Terrance DeCoteau was born on April 21, 1952, in Belcourt, ND to Albert and Cecilia (LaFromboise) DeCoteau. He was raised in Belcourt and went to the Turtle Mountain Community Schools until eighth grade. He was united in marriage to Donna (White) DeCoteau on December 28, 1973, and had it blessed in June of 1980 at St. Ann's Catholic Church. Together they had three children, Randall, Terrance, and Dawn. Randolph worked as a security guard in Belcourt. He then moved to Iowa for five years and received his certification to operate heavy equipment. Randolph moved back to North Dakota and worked for BNI Coal in Center, ND as a heavy equipment operator, where he worked for almost 30 years. Randolph loved fishing, traveling, and going to the casino. He loved going to basketball games with Ed Slater, Vincent Delorme and his niece Fern. He also enjoyed spending time at Linda's Cafe, spending time with his family, and most of all spoiling his grandchildren. Randolph will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.
Randolph is survived by his children, Randall (Billie Jo) DeCoteau, Terrance (Kodi) DeCoteau, and Dawn (David) Aune all of Belcourt; grandchildren, JR (Heather) Allery, Tiffany (Kendall) Krodel, Ryne (Bryce) Storsved, Austin (Kali) Steckler, Austin Anderson, RT (Teashah) DeCoteau, Teagan (Ashtyn) DeCoteau, Dakota (Hailey) Aune, Tori DeCoteau, Zech Demery, and Destiny Mayer; eight great-grandchildren with one on the way; siblings, Rose Teter of Ogden, IA, Cindy Hurkes of Bismarck, and Joey (Al) McLeod of Bismarck; in-laws, Raymond (Lisa) Montriel and Carrie Laducer of Belcourt, Debbie Schnackenberg and Dianne White of Jamestown, ND, and Amy (Hal) Norton of New Hampshire.
Randolph is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Cecilia (LaFromboise) DeCoteau, wife, Donna (White) DeCoteau, grandchild, Justine DeCoteau, siblings, Elmer DeCoteau, Jude DeCoteau, Linus DeCoteau, Larry DeCoteau, Stanley DeCoteau, Harvey DeCoteau, Cornelius DeCoteau, Loretta DeCoteau, Carol Laducer, Doris DeCoteau, in-laws, Dewayne Teter, DuWayne Hurkes, Delores DeCoteau, Darlene Lavallie, Richard Lavallie, Ron Laducer, James White, and Raelena (Montriel) Belgarde.
Casket Bearers are RT DeCoteau, JR Allery, Clarence Teter, Dave Aune, Ashtyn Jerome, Kendall Krodel, Dakota Aune, CJ DeCoteau, Ryne Storsved, Lenny DeCoteau, Austin DeCoteau, Richard DeCoteau, Shane Teter, Merle Teter, Carter DeCoteau, and Orion Aune. Honorary Casket Bearers are all friends and family. Rosary will be led by Alvin and Ella McLeod. Readers are Justice DeCoteau and Brittany Lavallie. Eucharistic Gifts by Joey McLeod and Alvin McLeod. Music by Alvin Poitra and Craig Lunday
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with a visitation beginning at 9:00 AM and Rosary Service at 10:00 AM prior to the funeral mass. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND in the spring. Father Michael Slovak presiding.
