Ramsey Delorme, age 64, of Dunseith, ND passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Ramsey Dean Delorme was born on December 28, 1960 in Rolette, ND to Raymond and Shirley (Charette) Delorme. He was raised in Belcourt and attended school there, graduating from Turtle Mountain Community High School in 1979. He furthered his education at college for one year. He was united in marriage to Jackie Azure on November 3, 1979 and together they raised three sons, Derek, Jason, and Toby. Ramsey was self-employed, owning and operating JTD Rain Gutter and Construction. He and his family became ranchers, owning many beautiful horses, which they worked with in team roping and racing. Ramsey enjoyed traveling to roping events and was a jack of all trades. He liked watching westerns, playing cards, and was an avid Vikings fan. Ramsey loved time spent with his family members, his wife, his sons, grandchildren, mother, and siblings. His faithful companion, Edwin, a Catahoula breed dog, brought him much joy. Ramsey will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Ramsey is survived by his loving wife, Jackie Delorme of Dunseith; sons, Derek Delorme of Bismarck, Jason Delorme of Dunseith, and Toby Delorme of Parshall; two grandchildren, Arena Rae Delorme and Jason "JD" Delorme; mother, Shirley Delorme of Belcourt; siblings, Kandace (Jerry) Parisien of Belcourt, Connie (Luke) Baker of Belcourt, Rae (Wayne) Parisien of Belcourt, and Ray Jr. (Marla Belgarde) Delorme of Belcourt; and nieces and nephews.
Ramsey was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Delorme, grandparents, Louis and Jane Delorme and John and Stella Charette, father and mother-in-law, James and Vita Azure, and brother-in-law's, Kenny Azure and Mark Azure.
Casket Bearers are James "Mushy" Gladue, Joe Peltier, Phillip Peltier, Perry "the Breeze" Cavanaugh, Mervin Packineau, Brenden Brinkman, and Walter LaFountain. Honorary Bearers are all family and friends. Music by Craig Lunday, Alvin Poitra, Jerry Parisien, and Dave Azure. Rosary led by Mary Davis and Cyndee McLeod. Readers are Shelly Azure and Cyndee McLeod. Eulogy of Deacon Fatty Davis and Connie Baker. Drum group is Manidoo noodin Spirit Wind.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with visitation beginning at 8:00 AM and Rosary Service/Eulogy at 9:00 AM prior to the funeral mass. Father Sam Medley presiding. Burial will follow funeral services in the church cemetery.
