Pete Barnett, age 74, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND.

Pete was born on December 1,1951 in Belcourt, ND to John and Delia (Houle) Morin.  He was raised in Belcourt and completed his education there as well.  Pete worked for the Belcourt Hospital for 45 years and a phone operator and he also worked at KEYA for many years. He loved his church life, going to church often, and was loved in return.  Pete was very social and enjoyed going to secondhand stores and collecting old washing machines and old clocks.  He also enjoyed quilting.  Pete will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Pete is survived by his sisters, Sharon McKeown and Wanda Morin; and nieces and nephews.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Bill Warren, Willie Charette, Marge Nelson, Louis Morin, John Morin Jr., and Marla Morin.

A funeral will be held at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND followed by burial at St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND.
