Paula Hunt, age 60, of Dunseith, ND passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at Quentin Burdick Memorial Hospital, Belcourt, ND.

Paula Ann "Morin" Hunt was born to Paul M. Morin and Shirley A. (Laverdure) Morin on October 11th, 1964. She was born in Belcourt, ND at IHS. She lived in North Dunseith, ND and went to school and graduated from TMCHS in 1982. She obtained an Associate of Science degree from TMCC in 1985. Paula worked at Turtle Mountain Housing Authority from 1985-1998. She met Steven Hunt while working at TM House Authority in the Spring of 1991. They were married by a family friend on July 5, 1997 and united in holy matrimony on December 13, 1997 in St. John Baptist Catholic Church, St. John, North Dakota. She worked various other jobs throughout the years including at Uniband as a keyer and at the new casino as a night manager when it was being constructed. She went to work at Turtle Mountain Community College in March of 2003. When she worked at the college, they all became family to her and they were always there for her in all of her sicknesses.  She and Steven raised their children in northeast Dunseith. Her hobbies included spending time with her daughters, Shenoa and Stephanie and her grandchildren, shopping, movies, going to the casino. She also enjoyed watching Netflix series with Steven and reading books. She loved having grandkids over and spending time outside.

Steven & Paula were always holding hands. When he dropped her off at any door, he always waited until she was inside to make sure she got inside safely. The love they had for one another could be seen by everyone. They were each other's best friends and soulmates. Paula will be lovingly remembered and forever missed.

Paula is survived by husband, Steven Hunt; children, Shenoa Prouty of Ottawa KS and Stephanie Hunt (Cole Marion) of Dunseith; stepchildren, Robert (Lynelle) Hunt Sr of Belcourt, Sheila (Chris) Longie, Sherry (Jeremy) Rel, both of Dunseith; grandchildren, Isabella Prouty, Hailey Prouty, Asher Marion, Randy Steven Hunt Jr., Nicholas Dauphinais, Candace Bruce, Robert Hunt Jr., Kyle Hunt, Kishia Hunt, Hailee Hunt, Tyler Rel, Tristian Rel, Jeramiah Rel, Sophia Davis, Sabrina Davis, Blaine Davis Jr., Sheridyn Machipiness and many other grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Carla (Bert) Parisien of Dunseith; cousin, Mark DeCoteau; and many other cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Paula was preceded in death by her parents, Paul & Shirley Morin, sibling, James "Jimmy" Morin, stepsons, Michael Hunt, and Randy Hunt Sr., granddaughters, Krissandra Gillis & Tanesha Dauphinais, and grandson, Peter Machipiness.

Casket Bearers are Blair Parisien, TJ Parisien, Duran Parisien, Cole Marion, Randy Hunt, and Mike Poitra.  Honorary Bearers are all family and friends.  Music by Craig Lunday and Alvin Poitra.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 27, 2025 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with visitation beginning at 8:00 AM and Rosary Service at 9:00 AM prior to the funeral mass.  Burial will be in the church cemetery in the spring of 2025.
