Paul Morin, age 80, of Dunseith, ND passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at the Dunseith Community Nursing Home, Dunseith, ND.

Paul Moses Morin was born on October 1, 1939 to Moses and Mary (Gunville) Morin in Belcourt, ND.  Paul was raised in Dunseith and completed his education at Dunseith Day School, at boarding school in Marty, SD and at Belcourt Schools.  He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1958 and received an honorable discharge in 1961.  Paul was united in marriage to Shirley Laverdure on January 25, 1964 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Belcourt.  Together they raised three children, Paula, Carla, and James.  Paul worked as a carpenter for many years.  He was a member of the Lilley-Dionne American Legion Post #262 of Belcourt and a member of the Knights of Columbus of which he was Grand Knight for two years.  Paul enjoyed his work as a carpenter and also building various things including bird houses, dressers, and a gazebo.  He liked reading, fishing, and watching television, especially boxing events.  Paul loved time spent visiting with his family, telling stories, and debating on various issues with is son, James.  He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his family members and friends.

Paul is survived by his children, Paula (Steven) Hunt of Dunseith, Carla (Bert) Parisien of Belcourt, and James Morin of Dunseith; six grandchildren, Shenoa Prouty, Tyler Parisien, Duran Parisien, Stephanie Hunt, Kylie Parisien, and Blair Parisien; three great grandchildren, Isabella Prouty, Hailey Prouty, and Asher Marion; and siblings, Marie LaFontaine of Dunseith, Ramona Poitra of Dunseith, and Marilyn (Tim) Henderson of Rapid City, SD.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Moses and Mary Morin, wife, Shirley Morin, and siblings, Loretta Morin, Paulette Gundstrom, Louise Langston, Greg Morin, and Barbara Koehler.

Casket Bearers are Alan Poitra, Brady Parisien, Jeff DeCoteau, Tyler Parisien, Duran Parisien, and Blair Parisien.  Honorary Bearers are all family and friends in attendance.  Music by Terry Baker.  Rosary led by Bonnie Nadeau. Eucharistic Gifts by Tim and Marilyn Henderson.  Reader is Linda Davis.  Pall placed by his grandchildren.  Military Honors by the Lilley-Dionne American Legion Post #262 of Belcourt and the Military Funeral Honor Guard of Minot, ND.

A visitation will begin at 5:00 PM on Sunday, August 2, 2020 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM.  Funeral Mass will be Monday, August 3, 2020 at 10:00 AM in the church.  Burial will follow services in the church cemetery.
