Paul DeCoteau, age 67, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND.
Paul Raphael DeCoteau was born on April 26, 1954 in Belcourt, ND to Alex and Agnes (Davis) DeCoteau. He was raised in Dunseith and completed his education there as well. He furthered his education at college for one year. Paul was the proud father of eight children, Anthony, Charlotte, Nicole, Jason, Phillip, Justin, Misty, and Colin. Paul lived in the Belcourt and Dunseith area most of his life. He enjoyed fishing, all kinds of music, driving his Ford pickup, hunting and playing basketball in his younger years, and playing cards, especially spades and pinochle. Paul worked as a handyman throughout his life. He had a wonderful sense of humor, laughing, talking, and telling stories to make his family laugh. Paul also liked attending Pow-Wow's. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, LorryLyn DeCoteau; children, Anthony (Pegas) DeCoteau of Minot, Charlotte (Elmer) Damaya-DeCoteau of Bemidji, MN, Nicole (Eric Delonais) Parisien of Minot, Jason DeCoteau of Calif, Phillip (Lolita) Gavere of Milton, FL, Justin (Kari Fisherman) DeCoteau of Cass Lake, MN, Misty DeCoteau of Bemidji, MN, and Colin DeCoteau of Belcourt; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings, Joyce Gerber, Cheryl Hanson, John DeCoteau, Michelle DeCoteau, Tammy Ann LaFountain, Sheila Baker, James Anderson, Jaycee Neilson, Joni Hoven, Justine Demery, Mona Demery, Perry Demery, John Demery, Raphael Demery, and Arden IronBear; aunts, Christine Knight and Rose Poitra; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Debbie and Lisa, brothers, Gerald and Terry, and grandsons, Donovan Counts Jr. and Lucas Johnson.
A visitation will begin at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Fiddler's Hall, Belcourt, ND. Funeral Services will begin at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Fiddler's Hall, Belcourt, ND.
