Neil Pound, age 80, of Rolette, ND formerly of Belcourt, ND, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2020 at the Rolette Community Care Center, Rolette, ND.
Neil Harold Pound was born on December 1, 1939 in Rolla, ND to Harold and Eleanor (Burley) Pound. He was raised in Hansboro and completed is education there as well. He furthered his education for one year at Wahpeton College before enlisting in the United States Army. Neil was united in marriage to Jean Frederick on June 18, 1966 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Belcourt. Together they had two daughters, Shelly and Nicole. Neil was a carpenter for many years and worked with various companies throughout the area. He was a member of the Lilley-Dionne American Legion of Belcourt. Neil enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping and watching westerns. He also liked to go dancing and bowling. Neil loved time spent with his family members. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his family.
Neil is survived by his wife, Jean Pound of Belcourt; daughters, Shelly (Royce) McAnally of Minot and Nicole Pound of Belcourt; seven grandchildren, Jacie Card, Mary Gagnon, Amber Gagnon, Chayton McAnally, Mason McAnally, Coady McAnally, and Jocelyn McAnally; great grandchildren, Copelynn and Brixton; sisters, Wilda (Wilford) Brown of Esmond and Kay "Muriel" (Darcy) Murphy of Grand Rapids, MN; and many nieces, nephews, brother and sister-in-law's and cousins.
Neil was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Eleanor Pound, grandson, Dalton Pound, and sister, LaWanda Tonn.
A Funeral Service and Burial will be held at a later date in Neil's memory.
