Myron "Merv" DeCoteau, age 68, of Belcourt, ND passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND.

Myron "Merv" Joseph DeCoteau was born on November 24, 1957 in Williston, ND to Roger Sr. and Josephine (Allery) DeCoteau.  He was raised in Belcourt and completed his education there as well.  Myron worked as a cab driver for many years.  He enjoyed gambling, playing cards, and going to the casino.  He had a large collection of vinal records and liked listening to music.  Myron liked his faithful companions, his pets, and was a wonderful story teller.  He enjoyed cookouts with family and friends and loved time spent with his brothers and sisters and nieces and nephews.  He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Myron is survived by his siblings, Ron DeCoteau of Belcourt, Curtis (Naomi) DeCoteau of Fargo, and Roger DeCoteau Jr. of Belcourt; and many nieces and nephews.

Myron was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Karen, Joyce, Cynthia, Renae, and Elaine, nephews, John and Michael, and niece, Renessa Decoteau.

A private family funeral will be held at a later date.
