Minerva Rose (Roy) Getzlaff, age 91, of Rolla, ND passed away October 19,2023 at St. Kateri Hospital, Rolla, ND peacefully surrounded by her family.

Minerva (Minnie) was born on October 21, 1931 in Rolla, ND to Harry Roy and Anna Lambert. She completed her education in Haskell, Kansas and later received her Associate degree from Turtle Mountain Community College. Minerva was united in marriage to James St. Claire in 1955 but later divorced. Together they raised eight children Laredo, Melody, Timothy, Barry, Tina, Becky, Dolly, and Christopher. Minerva lived in Great Falls, Montana for 24 years. She worked in the housekeeping department at Columbus Hospital in Great Falls. One of her special moments she always shared about this job was that she met famous actor Patrick Duffy whom she says winked at her. In 1979, she returned home to Rolla to care for her aging father. After his passing, she then babysat her grandchildren for many years. She eventually remarried and moved to Dunseith, ND. After surviving a serious car accident in 2010, Minnie lived out the rest of her life with her daughter Tina and granddaughter Adrienne who took care of her until her passing.

Minnie enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, canning and loved animals. She also loved old country music-Gene Watson was her favorite singer. One of her happiest moments was when she met and took pictures with Gene Watson and Moe Bandy backstage after one of their concerts in 2016. Minnie also enjoyed playing guitar and dancing. Most of all, Minnie cherished her family and spending time with her grandchildren. Minnie was a devout Catholic and shared her love for God and her faith with her family. She was a very strong, healthy, caring women full of stories, laughter, and love.  Minnie will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.

Minerva is survived by her children, Melody (Al) Lovell of Lorain, OH, Timothy St.Claire of Dunseith, Tina St. Claire of Rolla, Becky (Tom) Chapman of Missoula, MT, and Christopher St.Claire of Rolla; sister Lillian (Pepsi) Belgarde of Anchorage, AL; five grandchildren- Kyle (Meghan), Rhea (Fred) DeCoteau, Adrienne (Bryant Champagne) St. Claire, Jesse (Shannon) St.Claire, and Matt (Jackie) Chapman, 10 great grandchildren- Aiden, Jace, Natalie, Riel, Lorayah, Freddy, Maria, Amelia, Ella, Jax and Adalyn and many nieces and nephews.

Minerva was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Roy and Anna Lambert, husband James St.Claire, her second husband, children Laredo St. Claire, Barry St. Claire, and Dolly Lee, son-in-law, Ole Lee, siblings Ted Roy, Iris Corder, and Michael Roy.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, St. John, ND with a visitation beginning at 9:00 AM and Rosary Service at 9:30 AM prior to the Memorial Service.  Father Richard Fineo presiding.  Burial will follow services in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND.
