Michael Welch, age 71, of Rolla passed away Wednesday, September 18,2024 at his home in Dunseith, ND.

Michael Welch was born on August 29, 1953 in Cando, ND to Joe and Jeanne Welch. He was raised and completed his education in Rolla. Michael enjoyed fishing, football, and sports of all kinds. He loved to bet on sporting events and horse and dog racing. Michael enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren Calvin, CeAnn, ReAnn, Mary Ann, and Tatum. Michael worked as a commercial fisherman in Alaska for several years.  Over the last 30 years he worked at Roy's T.V. and Edwards Construction. Michael will be lovingly remembered and missed by all who knew him.

Michael is survived by his companion of over 20 years, Valerie Peltier of Dunseith; children, Ann (Harold) Counts of Dunseith, Shauna LaVallie of Belcourt, Autumn Langon of Trenton, Krystal Peltier of Chattanooga TN, Errin Peltier of Minot, Cameron Peltier of Bismark, Curtis St. Claire Jr. of Bismark, and Ryan Peltier of Valley City; brothers, Pete, Todd (Lisa), Jim (Hope), Pat (Bev), and Jay (Cindy) Welch; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Jeanna Welch and his son, Travis LaVallie

A visitation will be Sunday, September 22, 2024 beginning at 5:00 PM at the Eagle Heart Cultural Center, Dunseith, ND. Funeral Service will be Monday, September 23, 2024 at 1PM at the Eagle Heart Cultural Center, in Dunseith ND.
