Michael Allard, age 67, of Belcourt, ND passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at his home with his family by his side. Michael R. "Mike" Allard was born on January 15, 1955 in Riverside, California to Frank Sr. and Alice (Martin) Allard.
He completed his education while moving to different locations with his family growing up. Michael enlisted in the United States Navy and received an honorable discharge in September 1975. He was united in marriage for 42 years to the love of his life Maria "Bunzie" Dionne on October 13, 1979 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Belcourt. Together they raised five children, Jesse, Clayton, Jamie, Jeremy, and Dawn. Michael worked as a custodian from 1982 to 2002 in the Turtle Mountain School System. He enjoyed going fishing, doing mechanical work on small engines, carpentry and building different things. He was a "jack of all trades." Michael also liked traveling, going to play bingo and to the casino, and racing. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to spend time with his grandkids, family, and friends. Michael will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by all.
Michael is survived by his wife, Maria Allard of Belcourt; children, Jesse M. (Jessi) Colby of Rothsay, MN, Clayton (Patricia) Allard of Bemidji, MN, Jamie M. (Kristy) Allard of Belcourt, Jeremy R. Allard of Belcourt, and Dawn (Justin) Vallie of Belcourt; 25 grandchildren, Nichole Colby, Cole Allard, Destiny Allard, Clayton Allard Jr., Isabella Allard, Jaykota Allard, Payton Allard, KC Allard, Laney St. Claire, Christian St. Claire, McKenzie St. Claire, Trenton St. Claire, Jerissa Allard, Sharvon Allard, Isaac Allard, Chandler Davis, Mindy Allard, Frank Baker, Braeden Grant, Cohen Grant, Trevor Thomas, Kendra Thomas, Victoria Tandeski, Alexander Tandeski, and Andrew Tandeski; eight great grandchildren, Penelope, Daxon, Precious, Paxton, Sekanii, Tavares, Kavyn Jr., and Anikin; siblings, Frances Allard-Abbott of Belcourt, Gary (Joy) Allard of CO, Ramona (Richard) Hendren of WI, Robert (Stephanie) Allard of Bemidji, MN, Adrian (Janelle) Allard of Fargo, and Edward (Christine) Allard of Seattle, WA; and many nieces and nephews.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Alice Allard, brother, Frank Allard Jr., nephew, Chad Allard, and his father and mother-in-law, Leonard and Carolyn Dionne.
Casket Bearers are Kurt Dionne, Linus Dionne, Cole Allard, Clayton Allard Jr., Frank Baker, and Richard Hendren. Honorary Bearers are all children, grandchildren, and family members. Military Honors by the Lilley Dionne American Legion Post 262 of Belcourt and the Navy Military Honor Guard of Grand Forks. Rosary led by Kelly Hall. Eulogy by Destiny Allard and Mindy Allard.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022 at NOON at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with visitation beginning at 8:00 AM with Rosary Service/Eulogy at 11:00 AM prior to the funeral mass. Burial will take place in the spring in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND.
