Michael Dean Poitra Jr., age 34, of Belcourt, ND, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025 in Belcourt, ND.

Michael D. Poitra Jr., Eagle Boy, was born on October 15, 1990 to Michael Poitra Sr. and Laura Cree. He was raised in Belcourt, attending Belcourt High School. He enjoyed, fishing, hunting, going to pow-wows, and paper chasing. Michael was a hard worker; he was always working on cars. He loved the time he spent with his family and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Michael will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Michael Jr. is survived by his father, Michael Poitra Sr.; child, Onyx Nadeau; sister, Twila Herald; and brothers, Virgil Herald Jr. and Tyrone Herald.

Michael Jr. was preceded in death by his mother, Laura Cree, grandparents, Dominic & Ruth Poitra, and Jerome & Martha Cree.

Casket bearers will be, Bill Poitra Jr, Ronnie Poitra Jr, Joe "Fish" Jerome, Bruk Fredrick, Virgil Herald Jr, Dustin Poitra Terence Peterson, Austin Baker, Michael DeCoteau and Tyrone Herald. Honorary Bearers will Be all Michaels family and friends.

A visitation will begin at 5:00 PM on Sunday, September 28, 2025 at Fiddler's Hall, Belcourt, ND.  A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 29, 2025 at Fiddler's Hall, Belcourt, ND. Andy Laverdure officiating. Burial will follow funeral services in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND.
