Mike DeMers, age 68, of St. John, ND passed away on Monday, August 10, 2026 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND.

Michael Robert DeMers was born on June 22, 1958 in Rolla, ND to Robert & Yvonne (Trottier) DeMers. He was raised in St. John, graduating from St. John High School, Home of the Woodchucks, in 1976. Mike was united in marriage to Annie Armstrong on February 7, 1981 in Rolla. Together they raised four sons, Scott, Jon, Derek, and Dustin. They raised their family on the DeMers Family Farm in rural St. John where he had spent all of his life, farming and ranching in the St. John area. Mike loved farming and ranching with his family. He enjoyed watching local sporting events, for his children and grandchildren, of whom he was very proud, and many others throughout his community. Spending time with his grandchildren was something he loved to do often as well as time spent with his entire family. Mike will be lovingly remembered and forever missed.

Mike is survived by his wife of 45 years, Annie DeMers of St. John; his sons, Scott (Shanna) DeMers of Rolla, Jon (Joni) DeMers of St. John, Derek (Christin) DeMers of Rolla, and Dustin (Shilynn) DeMers of St. John; ten grandchildren, Payton, Kenley, Elyse, Miles, River, Connor, Karli, Alyson, Lynsie, and Colton; parents, Robert & Yvonne DeMers of Dunseith; siblings, Pat (Chris) DeMers of Phoenix, AZ, Gary (Lori) DeMers of Rugby, Larry (Barb) DeMers of Phoenix, AZ, Lisa (Doug) Studaker of Port Charlotte, FL, and Gregg (Carmen) DeMers of Fargo; mother-in-law, Helen Armstrong of Fargo; brother and sister-in-law’s, Shelly DeMers of Minot, Gaylen (Tom) Volk of Fargo, Steven (Rosemary) Armstrong of Bullhead City, AZ, Brian (Kim) Armstrong of Alexandria, MN, and Jan (Steve) Visby of Fargo; and many nieces and nephews.

Mike was preceded in death by his brother, Ron DeMers, father-in-law, Gary Armstrong, niece, MaKenna DeMers, & his grandparents.

Casket Bearers are Pat DeMers, Gary DeMers, Gregg DeMers, Larry DeMers, Jeff DeMers, Tim DeMers, Dean Langan, Mark Trottier, and Tony St. Germaine. Honorary Bearers are the St. John Class of 1976 and family & friends. Music by Kevin Jeanotte & family. Rosary led by Barbara Parisien.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, St. John, ND with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM and Rosary Service at 10:00 AM prior to the funeral mass. Burial will follow the funeral mass at Holy Cross Cemetery, St. John, ND. Father Richard Fineo presiding. A meal will be held at the St. John Community Center (Old Gym) following funeral services, please join all family members for fellowship in remembrance of Mike.
