Mary Stella (Allery) (Langan) Falcon,100, passed away peacefully, Saturday, February 7th, 2026, at Dunseith Community Nursing Home in Dunseith, ND. During the afternoon hours her family and friends had gathered there to celebrate her 100th Birthday. She left this earthly plane rested in the warmth of love.

Mary was born, January 31st, 1926, in St. John, ND to Eugene Stephen and Virginia Mary (Allard) Allery. She was born at home and delivered by a midwife, Mrs. Mary Phelps. She was the couple's 3rd child, joining siblings Louis and Marjorie (Margie) followed by Emma, Eugene (Gene) Jr., Bernice, Julia (Joyce), George (Sonny), and Shirley.

Her parents raised their family 9 miles west of St. John, ND on Highway 43 south of Roland Berginski's farmstead. Growing up on a farm, she was expected to do her share of chores. She always remembered the core values her parents instilled; always be on your best behavior, do not interrupt when adults where speaking, be polite and respect your elders.

As a young girl she was sent to an Indian Boarding School in Hutchinson, MN, followed by one year at Belcourt Community School. She graduated from 8th grade in May of 1939. Mary did not attend High School. She grew ill around the age of 16. On April 25, 1944, Mary was diagnosed with Tuberculosis and became a patient at San Haven State Hospital in Dunseith, ND. She was discharged 25 months later (May 1946).

Following her discharge from San Haven, Mary, stayed as an employee for 8 months. Afterward she became a waitress at Dale's Cafe, Cando, ND, Litzy's Cafe, and City Cafe owned by Andy and Eva McIntosh.

After a year of courtship Mary and Ernest Vital Langan were joined in marriage on January 10th, 1950, at the St. John Babtist Church in St. John, ND. They had a double wedding. Mary's younger sister, Bernice, married Lawrence A. Thibert. Afterward they celebrated at their uncle John Allery's home. Although it was cold and stormy, they danced the night away to fiddle music.

During their first year of marriage, they lived with Ernest's parents, Vital and Elizabeth (St. Germaine) Langan in the country on the out skirts of St. John. In the spring, they moved to town and rented a log cabin from Ed Davis. They lived there for two years. Ernest worked as a carpenter, cement finisher, and retired from Munro's in Rolla, ND due to illness.  Mary worked as a waitress at Hotel Vendome in Rolla, ND, until their first son was born.  They would eventually have six children, Delmar (1951), Debra (1952), Donald (1953), Gerald (1954), Laurence (1956), and June (1960). All born at Belcourt Hospital in Belcourt, ND.

After her children were a little older Mary attended classes in the evening at the St. John Headstart building. On June 10th, 1968, she received her State High School General Achievement Certificate (GED).

In 1954, Mary went to work for the William Langer Jewel Bearing Plant in Rolla, ND. She was employed there for 37 years until she retired in 1991. After retirement she worked as the St. John Postmaster replacement for 9 months.

On July 1, 1989, her beloved husband, Ernest, passed away and is buried at the Holy Cross Cemetery in St. John, ND.

On May 21st, 1993, Mary married her long-time friend, Louis A. "Louie" Falcon in Chinook, Montana. They made Trenton, ND their home. She spent her time there embracing the family and community she had grown to love. On May 21st, 2015, Louie passed away at the age of 87. He is buried at Trenton Cemetery, Trenton, ND. After the loss of her best friend and companion, Mary stayed in Trenton until 2022. At that time, she moved back to St. John to spend her final years where it all began.

In the last chapter of her life, Mary lived with her son and daughter-in-law, Don and Laurel Langan. She had a great time when family would visit, take her on little adventures to the casino or out to eat her favorite, Chinese food. She was very active, although hard of hearing, until her health began to decline last year. She spent her last few months at the Dunseith Community Nursing Home.

On March 2nd, 2025, at the 39th Annual Family Week, an event put on by the Turtle Mountain Tribe, Mary received a special honorable mention for being one of eldest living tribal members. She was 99 years old. As a young Métis girl, she was not allowed to participate in her cultural ceremonies, now she was being honored and given an award from the Tribal Chairman, Jamie Azure. This was a full circle moment.

Mary was a faithful Catholic who spent many years devoted to her work as a "Christian Mother" for the St. John Baptist Church. She committed her time to fund raising events such as church bingo and the fall bizarre.  The bible was her favorite book. She was devoted to raising her children in the church and found her strength in God.

During her 100 years of life, she created so many beautiful items that were gifted to loved ones. From gorgeous, crocheted blankets to quilts that she sewed. She was the keeper of memories. In her later years, she gifted each of her children a scrapbook with items and photos she had collected. Her family was her pride and joy. She loved to go to the casino, play bingo at the Senior Center, and was a completive card player. She treasured her time in her garden, baked goodies, cooked for her family, and watched game shows on tv. She collected dishes, porcelain dolls, tins, beany babies, and so much more. She cherished relationships with her family, especially her sisters. They would gather, gossip, and play Liverpool.

Mary was a devoted Daughter, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and friend. She had a way of making everyone in her life feel special and loved. Her kindness, warmth, and wisdom will forever be missed.

Survivors include her children, Delmar (Susan) Langan, Belcourt, ND; Debra (Debbie) Perronteau (Clyde Sivertson) Dunseith, ND; Donald (Dongo) (Laurel) Langan, Gerald (Jerry) (Peggy)Langan, Lawrence (Dean) Langan, all of St. John, ND, and June Langan, Trenton, ND; Stepchildren, Rick (Wanda)Carnes, Trenton, ND; Linda (Bob) Loveless, Seattle, WA; 15 Grandchildren; 27 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great Great Grandchildren; Siblings, Emma Koshney, Cando, ND; Julia (Joyce) Gourneau, St. John, ND; Shirley (Thomas) Nelson, Arlington, TX; many nieces, nephews, and loved ones from her time in Trenton, ND.

Many nieces, nephews, and loved ones.

Mary's final wish was to be cremated and buried at the Holy Cross Cemetery in St. John, ND. A graveside burial service will take place in the spring followed by a celebration of life. Details will be announced at a later date.
