Marvin Martin, age 87, of Rock Lake, ND passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at his home.

Marvin Rudolph Martin was born on May 26, 1936 at Rock Lake, ND to Charles and Esther
(Anderson) Martin. He was raised in Rock Lake and graduated from Rock Lake High School.
Marvin enlisted in the United States Army in 1958 and received an honorable discharge from the
Army National Guard in 1962. He was stationed south of Seattle, Washington for 10 months. He
enjoyed a career as a carpenter working throughout the state of North Dakota as well as South
Dakota, Colorado, Wyoming and Montana. Marvin was very proud of his country and took pride
in being a military veteran. He enjoyed working with his hands, tinkering with his many vehicles
and driving around the countryside. He was quite the conversationalist and would visit with just
about anyone, having his morning coffee at various places in the surrounding communities. He
had a reserved, private personality but had a great memory and could share endless stories about
the "old days". Marvin was a proud member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Union
2028 in Grand Forks, ND. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Marvin is survived by a brother, Eugene Martin (Kent, WA); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Martin is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Esther; and siblings, Milton Martin, Laila
Swenson, Leila Peterson, Celia Johnsrud, Pearl Willman, and Dennis Martin.

Burial will be held at the Fargo National Cemetery on August 11, 2023.
