Marty DeCoteau, age 57, of Minot, ND, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Trinity Hospital, Minot, ND.

Marty Jeffery DeCoteau was born on June 5, 1967 in Belcourt, ND to Oliver and Irene (Demery) DeCoteau.  He was raised in Belcourt and completed his education there as well.  Marty was the father of two children, Vandever and Tamika.  He was self employed as a mechanic and enjoyed working on cars.  Marty had a wonderful sense of humor, a prankster, but also had a more serious side as well, you always knew when he meant business.  Marty was outgoing, often social, enjoying talking to others, and to many, a good man.  He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his family members and friends.

Marty is survived by his son, Vandever R. DeCoteau of Fort Defiance, AZ; daughter, Tamika M. (Christopher) Scott of Mission, SD; seven grandchildren; siblings, Renee (Richard) Counts of Dunseith, JoAnn DeCoteau of Belcourt, Debra (Ronald Jr.) Bruce of Belcourt, and Daryl DeCoteau of Belcourt; and many nieces and nephews.

Marty was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Irene DeCoteau, siblings, Brenda Hall, Bernadette DeCoteau, Mary Ann DeCoteau, and Gordon DeCoteau, and nephews, Levi Grant and Daniel Hall III.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 3, 2025 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with Rosary Service at 9:00 AM prior to the funeral mass.  Burial will take place in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND in the spring.
