Marla DeCoteau, age 68, of Dunseith, ND passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024 at Dunseith Community Nursing Home, Dunseith, ND.

Marla Faye DeCoteau was born on November 11, 1955 in Belcourt, ND to Edward and Caroline (Brunelle) DeCoteau.  She was raised in Belcourt and completed her education there as well.  Marla furthered her education at Mayville State University for two years.  Marla was the proud mother of two children, Misty and Lowell.  She worked for the Turtle Mountain Housing Authority as a clerk for 20 years.  Marla enjoyed playing bingo, being outdoors golfing, quilting, and crocheting.  She lived her life in the Belcourt area and was very active in the church, devoting her time to her faith.  Marla loved her family dearly and the time that she spent with them.  She will be greatly missed and forever remembered.

Marla is survived by her children, Misty (Melvin) Smith of Rolla and Lowell DeCoteau of Minot; four grandchildren, Tyden Smith, Kloee DeCoteau, Meah DeCoteau, and Emmy Lynn LaVallie; siblings, Phyllis (Dalbert) Brien of Belcourt, Robert (Andrea) DeCoteau of Belcourt, Steven DeCoteau of Belcourt, Linda DeCoteau of Belcourt, Claudia DeLong of Belcourt, Wanda DeCoteau of Belcourt, and Wallace (Roberta) DeCoteau of Belcourt; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marla was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Caroline DeCoteau, brothers, Louis, Vincent, Gregory, Glenn, and Troy DeCoteau, and sisters, Carol Grant and Gladys DeCoteau.

A visitation will begin at 5:00 PM on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND with Rosary Service at 7:00 PM.  A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 6, 2024 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt, ND. Burial will follow in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt, ND.
