Marie D. (Gunville) LaFontaine, age 68, of Rolla, ND passed away on Monday, April 6, 2020 at her home.

Marie Deborah "Debbie" (Gunville) LaFontaine was born on April 17, 1951 in Belcourt, ND to Vincent and Gladys (Nicholas) Gunville. She was raised in California and then attended boarding school in Wahpeton, ND, completing her education. Marie was the proud mother of six children, Selina, Jennifer, Darrell, Kelly, Lucas, and Tyland. She was a wonderful homemaker and worked in various restaurants throughout the area. Debbie loved her traditional surroundings and was on the local Pow-Wow committees. Debbie was a traditional dancer throughout the years and enjoyed her sweats. She enjoyed making jewelry as well. Debbie loved her family dearly. She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Debbie is survived by her children, Selina LaFontaine of Rolla, Jennifer LaFontaine of Belcourt, Kelly Parisien of Bismarck, Lucas LaFontaine of Bismarck, and Tyland LaFontaine of Rolla; nine grandchildren; and a sister, Brenda (Michael) Davis of Boston, Mass.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, son, Darrell Parisien, sisters, Nicolette, Darlene, and Barbara, grandson, Steve Grant Jr., and uncles, Louie and Alfred Nicholas.

A Funeral Mass will be planned at a later date in Marie's memory.
